Regular Prestige lets you start the next rank cycle without stripping away your favourite weapons and class setups. Every player begins with the normal Soldier Rank ladder. As you move up, new guns, equipment, attachments, and class options become available. That means reports claiming a level 55 limit or ten launch Prestiges shouldn't be treated as settled information.

Regular Prestige Keeps Your Routine Intact
Regular Prestige feels more practical for players with limited time. Your level resets, but your established weapons, equipment, and loadouts remain ready to use. You can carry on with weapon mastery, attachment work, and Apex Attachments without repeating the same early unlocks. Apex Attachments are earned by fully progressing weapons and can alter recoil, handling, stealth, or tactical use. Infinity Ward still needs to explain whether weapon levels and Apex progress are affected by Classic Prestige, so players focused on completion may want to wait for clearer rules.
Details Worth Watching Before Launch
Gunny should make rebuilding a class less frustrating by suggesting close-, mid-, and long-range setups, while Gunsmith will share attachments across weapon groups. Double XP token transfers from Black Ops 7 or Warzone haven't been confirmed, and Vault Edition BlackCell benefits remain unclear. The Open Beta runs from August 21 to August 25 for eligible preorders, then from August 28 to September 1 for everyone. The full release is set for October 23, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Steam, Battle.net, and Nintendo Switch 2.
