Grammys 2023 Harry Styles wins album of the year, Samara Joy takes best new artist

Although "Harry's House" by Harry Styles won album of the year, the 65th Grammy Awards' biggest winner may have been the super fan who got to make the announcement and present the trophy.

This year's Grammys invited a group of fans to speak about why their favourite artists should win awards. Before this night's grand prize was given out, host Trevor Noah joked, "This is the first time you're going to get on stage without getting chased by security."

When Noah opened the envelope, he looked back at the fans before approaching Reina, a 78-year-old Canadian great-grandmother who had fought for Styles, and telling her to make the announcement.

Harry Styles, please! She was able to leave as the audience began to applaud and cheer. When Styles arrived on stage, he gave her a hug and a kiss and pretty much made her year at that point.

After a few introduction bleeps from the CBS censors, Styles said, "Man, I've been so, so inspired by every artist in this category with me at a lot of different times in my life." When I'm by myself, I pay attention to everyone in this category.

Before giving the mic to his two collaborators and moving over to give the supporter a fist-bump, he said, "This doesn't happen to people like me very often and this is so, so nice."

Jazz vocalist Samara Joy had just won the award for best new artist.

Joy began, "I am so so -," but she quickly became overwhelmed. I've been watching you guys on TV for so long, oh my god. Hence, I'm here with you, my family from the Bronx, New York, where I was born and raised. I find so much inspiration in each of you.
