Punjab NEET PG Counselling Process
1. Register online
- Register online on BFUHS portal.
- Fill personal details exactly as on your MBBS documents.
- Upload scanned documents.
- Pay registration fee
2. Document Verification
- BFUHS may do online verification of uploaded documents or call for physical verification at designated centres.
- After verification BFUHS publishes provisional & final merit lists.
- If there are discrepancies you may be given a short window to rectify documents — act immediately if contacted.
3. Choice filling & Locking
- In the BFUHS portal pick a ranked list of college and speciality combinations. You can add many choices, list everything you’re willing to join, ordered by preference.
- After finalizing, hit lock as unlocked choices will not be considered. There is usually a final deadline. Do not miss the lock deadline.
4. Seat Allotment
- BFUHS releases provisional allotment PDF listing candidates, college & speciality allotted, plus reporting window and fee/security deposit instructions. Download the PDF and search for your NEET roll number/ID.
- If you accept & report, you are required to complete joining formalities; further participation in certain rounds may be restricted depending on rules
- Failure to report within the specified window usually leads to seat forfeiture and may affect security deposit. Prospectus specifies forfeiture rules.
- If you want an upgrade you may be allowed to stay in the seat and be considered for higher preference choices in subsequent rounds. If you opt to surrender the seat to wait for another round, know the financial & eligibility consequences in the prospectus
5. Reporting & fee payment
- Download & print the allotment letter from BFUHS; it lists documents to present at the allotted college.
- The allotment PDF and prospectus tell you the tuition/security deposit amount and payment modes. Keep payment receipts.
- Carry originals and copies to the college on reporting day.
6. Surrendering, Upgradation & Subsequent Rounds
- Upgradation while holding a seat: The prospectus allows candidates to be considered for upgradation in later rounds without surrendering. If upgraded allotment happens, your earlier seat is replaced by the new allotment automatically. If not upgraded, you keep the earlier seat. Check BFUHS rules about whether accepting a seat prevents AIQ participation or other rounds.
- Surrendering a seat: Surrendering may allow you to participate in future rounds, but there might be financial consequences such as forfeiture of security deposit. The prospectus will show surrender deadlines and refund policy.
- Mop-up/ stray-vacancy rounds: Unfilled seats are handled through mop-up/stray rounds with their own timelines and rules; check MDMS page for stray round notices.
